The Director General of the National Bureau of statistics and Chair of the Project Steering Committee (PSC) extended a warm welcome to the newly appointed Director of M&E and the new Director Monetary and Financial Regulatory Central Bank of Somalia as the new esteemed members of the committee. He invited them to formally introduce themselves. The chair invited the project coordinator for presentation and progress update for the quarter two and three of 2023.

The PC finalized his presentation by informing the committee of projects communications information that is the website and email of the project complaints or grievances. Mohamed Barre, Senior Economic Advisor and Economic Pillar Coordinator, acknowledged the efforts of the PIU and thanked them for their comprehensive presentation, he asked the PIU and members of the committee of any challenges that require attention during the course of the PSC meeting. The PIU informed the meeting of the challenges presented which include activity delays and components within the target results framework not being met. Additionally, implementing agencies must promptly finalize the terms of reference and adhere to their work plan for efficient execution of the activities.
The PIU mentioned that beneficiaries were given adequate time to prepare the Workplan and Budget. The Project Steering Committee unanimously endorsed the Approval of the Integrated Annual Work Plan and Budget estimated USD 8,759,721: January – December 2024.
